Several Riders Headed to State Championships

This past weekend, McMinnville High School’s Equestrian Team won several gold medals and other top honors at the final regular season meet of the year. These athletes have worked hard at weekly practices that began in November.

Grizzly riders headed to the state championships include Addisyn Baker, Anna Baumholtz Rachel Baumholtz and Molly Everingham and Kaydence Vining.

Gold Medals won at the final qualifying meet include:

  • Canadian Flag Race: Rachel Baumholtz, Anna Baumholtz, Molly Everingham, Addisyn Baker
  • Working Rancher: Anna Baumholtz
  • Keyhole: Addisyn Baker
  • Working Pairs: Rachel Baumholtz, Anna Baumholtz

Individual Highpoint Champion for the North Valley District went to McMinnville’s Anna Baumholtz, and the District Timed event Champion went to McMinnville’s Addisyn Baker. Additional state events qualified in are: Team Versatility with athletes Kaydence Vining, Molly Everingham, Rachel Baumholtz and Anna Baumholtz. This team earned the Silver medal in our district.

Other riders who competed include Taylor Altree, Daphne Anderson, Elena Cantelon, Isabel Firestone, Alexus Gibson, Lillian Gonzalez, Orianne Gladhart, Jocelyn Middleton and Kami Weeks.

The team heads to Redmond for the state championships on May 9 – 12. Athletes that place in the top 5 in each event will qualify for the regional meet in Moses Lake, Washington in June. Go Grizzlies!
