This week is National School Volunteer Week. Thank you, volunteers, for your service to our schools and our students!

McMinnville schools benefit from tremendous dedication and hours of
service from hundreds of school volunteers. Volunteers work with
students, chaperone field trips, organize school and class events,
assist with supplemental fundraising activities, help prepare materials
for classroom activities and serve in many other duties as needed.

The School Board has passed a proclamation recognizing the service of
volunteers in McMinnville Schools for National School Volunteer Week.

For information about volunteer opportunities, contact a neighborhood school office.

Pictured is Memorial PTA President Angela Bekofsky. In her two
years as PTA President, Angela has coordinated the school science fair
and provided leadership to the PTA. She spends two hours each day as a
kindergarten aid. Memorial staff estimate that Bekofsky has logged more
than 398 hours at the school so far this year.
