Last year, McMinnville School District was named a STEM Showcase District by the U.S. Department of Education for being one of three top providers of science, technology, engineering and math programs in the country.

The honor included a video production highlighting our successful
STEM programs. The video was released today as a model for other schools
and districts: “This video presents ideas and strategies that can help
you build exciting and enriching afterschool experiences.”

Integrating STEM into instruction at every grade has been a goal of
McMinnville schools. Director of Secondary Education and STEM Programs
Tony Vicknair explains how the District’s STEM programs have evolved and
are now part of the curriculum from kindergarten through grade 12.
