Buel’s summer library hours begin

It’s summer, but the school library is open!  From noon to 2 p.m. every Thursday through August 17, the Sue Buel Elementary library will be open for book check-out. Each week also includes a special activity to keep kids engaged over the vacation months.

The activity schedule includes

  • June 29 - Registration/book bags for first 100 students
  • July 6 - Drumming with Mark Powers; K-2 at 12:15, 3rd-5th at 1:15 p.m.
  • July 13 - Water color painting and yoga at 1 p.m.
  • July 20 - Bike safety
  • July 27 - Glen's Gizmos (hands-on science) and yoga at 1 p.m.
  • August 3 - Construction with boxes and found objects
  • August 10 - Robotics  and yoga at 1 p.m.
  • August 17 - End of summer library hours - summer treat

Because of summer bond work, the Wascher library will not be open this year, but the Bookmobile’s Book Buddies program will visit Joel Perkins Park on Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The district’s summer feeding program will also take place at the park this summer due to construction at Wascher. Book Buddies is a community outreach to bring the Bookmobile to various local spots during the summer. In addition to book check-out, the program includes crafts or activities and a snack. Click here to find out more.
