McMinnville FFA Members competed in two different state FFA competitions last week.

On Friday, Alec DeMarco, Hayly Clouse and Kaylyn Clevenger placed third as a team in the state Nursery/Landscape
contest. Members competed in landscape problem solving, landscape plant
identification, test, team activity, outdoor pest, diseases and tools
identification. Individually, Hayly placed seventh and Alec placed
ninth.

On Saturday, the McMinnville FFA hosted the state FFA Floriculture contest.
MHS members Kaylyn Clevenger, senior, Kaylyn Clevenger, sophomore,
Jennifer Veles, Hayly Clouse, Whitney Rich and Alec DeMarco placed third
in the team event. Members competed in test, mathematical problem
solving, indoor flower and plant identification, pest and disorders,
tool identification, print advertising, selling, product display, team
activity and floral design.

Alec DeMarco placed eighth individually in the contest. Special
recognition goes to sophomore and first year member, Kaylyn Clevenger
for placing 13th in the contest.

McMinnville FFA members wish to thank all of the volunteers,
horticulture industry donor partners and MHS school partners who helped
us put on a top-notch outstanding event.
