Complaint Process

(Spanish) McMinnville School District considers the school community to be an essential partner in the educational process. Families, students, staff and local community members are encouraged to make their concerns known to the district and to give the district an opportunity to review those concerns and respond to them in a timely manner.

  • Concerns about instructional practices or resources, harassment, discipline or discrimination should begin at the school level first. The proper channeling of complaints around instruction, discipline or learning materials is as follows:

      • Teacher or employee
      • Principal or supervisor
      • Superintendent or designee
      • Board
  • If discussing concerns with the classroom teacher, school principal/assistant principal, or your supervisor does not resolve the issue, individuals may access the school district’s formal complaint process.

  • Click for more details on complaint procedures and specific complaints that may have appeal rights to the Oregon Department of Education.
