If your child will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, you can
register him or her for kindergarten on April 16. Kindergarten will be a
full-day program in all McMinnville elementary schools starting in the
fall.

To register, stop by your neighborhood school on April 16 between 3 –
6:30 p.m. If you don’t know your assigned school, check the attendance boundary map or call the school district information line, 503-565-4000. Bring immunization records, proof of address and the student registration form. Forms will also be available at the school office.

The
new full-day program will include literacy, math, vocabulary, science,
social studies and art. Students will participate in P.E., music,
library and technology instruction. Students will develop social skills
through structured play and recess. All students will receive free
breakfast, snack and lunch through a federal school meal program.

Transportation will be provided to any student who lives one mile or more from the school.
