Production runs May 13 through 15
Patton Middle School Drama announces its spring production, “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” by Mary Lynn Dobson. The show will run Friday-Saturday, May 13 – 14 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door, which opens 30 minutes before the show. $5 general admission, $3 students/seniors, and $1 for Thespians and Patton Drama Alumni!
“The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” is a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic story (Think “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” … for families!). This time around, the legendary legend, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bull’s-eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured “Town’s Guy” who manages to make his way into every scene, whether he belongs there or not. This show is a laugh a minute and is suitable for all ages!
“This is my 15th year of producing shows at Patton,” said Drama Director Emily Wilcox. “What better way to celebrate, then to go back to the first show I ever did!
“I am inviting all former Patton Drama alumni to the show, especially those who were a part of my first production! It is fun to know that students who performed in the show 15 years ago are now serving in the U.S. Military, stage managing for operas, working in public relations, and following their dreams.”
This year’s production stars
Dylan Elliott as Robin Hood, Brooke Anderson as Maid Marian, Carlie Paull as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Gabriel Sandoval as the Evil Prince John, Molly Swart as the Town’s Guy and Dylan Dawson as Marian’s Lady in Waiting. Robin is followed by his band of merry people played by Jordan Reed, Lauren DuPuis, Owen Fish, Jeremiah Alfaro, Magdalena Scheese, Emi Cooper, Casia Cochran, Elsa Davies, Natalie Morgan, and Ellie Benlap. Prince John is followed by some fawning ladies played by Lilly Swart, Kailani Demuth, Patience Franke, Olivia McInnis, Claire Fergus and Emily Payne.
