Funded by grant from McMinnville Sunrise Rotary
McMinnville Sunrise Rotary obtained grant funds for a public art project and worked with the City of McMinnville and McMinnville High School art teacher and students to create a mural at Joe Dancer Park.
Art teacher and Art Club adviser Christine Garrison enlisted students and Emily Lux, a teacher and professional muralist, to design and paint the project.
The students worked over several weeks to capture core elements of what the design was intended to do and to design it. The team braved the recent rain and spent most of Memorial Day weekend painting the mural. The mural was complete on Sunday, June 5.
