Scholarships Available for Four-Day Virtual Summit

The Oregon Department of Education has shared an opportunity available to students ages 14-19 to learn how to become youth mentors.

YouthEra, a mental health training program, is offering a four-day virtual summit for students (ages 14-19) in late August to learn how to identify signs of distress, practice listening and self-care skills, identify strengths, build resilience, and counter issues like bullying and youth suicide.

The Oregon Health Authority has provided funding for the first 2,200 high school students in Oregon to attend for free ($475 per student). Students who complete the summit earn a $75 gift card and can win prizes as well.

The program, which runs from August 29 – September 1 from noon to 4:30 p.m., was created in partnership with the University of Oxford. Find out more here and apply here.
