The ninth annual McMinnville High School (MHS) plant sale kicks off this week, just in time for Mother’s Day.
The annual sale, open to the public, is slated for May 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the MHS greenhouse, located on the corner of 17th and Hembree streets.
“This is part of the Horticulture pathway coursework,” said MHS teacher Kerry Naylor. “The FFA model is about career development and learning how to incorporate plant knowledge and business acumen. Although the sale supports FFA activities and helps fund classroom activities, it’s a direct outcome of the learning we’re doing in class.”
