The McMinnville School District and the Yamhill County Family and Youth agency are partnering to offer a parent informational evening on the sensitive topic of teen suicide. The issue is generating recent attention due to a popular television series called “13 Reasons Why.”
The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 18 at Duniway Middle School from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Snacks will be available.
Experts will offer insight and facts about teen suicide with guidance on awareness and prevention, as well as provide information on school and community resources.
The evening will also include a specific discussion of the TV series and how to talk about it with teens.
Due to the nature of the topic, this presentation is designed for an adult-only audience.
