Kyle Murray wins Welding Sculpture, qualifies for Nationals

MHS sophomore Kyle Murray won first place in the Oregon SkillsUSA competition over the weekend. His entry, “The Boot,” won the state championship for the Welding Sculpture. His win qualifies him to compete in the national skills contest in mid-June in Atlanta, Georgia.

Students from Chip Ford’s Fabrication classes, Krista Carpino’s Culinary Arts classes, and Taghrid Elmeligui’s Computer Science classes competed at the event at Camp Withycombe National Guard base in Clackamas.
