

Annual writing competition features MSD students
- Aspiring young writers across the district will be recognized at a celebratory event in May. Chosen from entries from 24 schools, 32 students in the McMinnville School District students won recognition in prose or poetry categories.
All student winners, their parents, educators and friends are invited to attend the free Paper Gardens book release and celebration on Tuesday, May 9, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg.
Authors will receive a copy of the Paper Gardens 2023 book and will be given the opportunity to read their entries at the celebration.

The Paper Gardens creative writing contest has been sponsored by the Arts Alliance of Yamhill County for 30 years. This year Paper Gardens received 431 prose and poetry entries from Yamhill County students and adults.
