The McMinnville School District’s summer music camp wraps up this Friday with a group recital in the MHS auditorium beginning at noon.

The four-day camp, open to area students from third through 12th grade, featured  a range of musical experiences including choir and workshops in brass, woodwinds, strings, percussion, voice, guitar, ukulele or musical theater.

“This is the first year we’ve offered the musical theater workshop,” said camp organizer Marilyn Dresser, a district music teacher. “The kids really enjoy trying out new types of music and the theater addition has been really popular.”

The students participate in a mass choir experience as well as have an opportunity to attend two workshops.
