The McMinnville School Board adopted the 2017-2018 academic calendar at this week’s business meeting. The calendar committee had proposed two options and submitted them for a vote by staff and parents in February.
The option approved includes fall conferences during Thanksgiving week. Key dates for the year include:
September 4 – First day of school for students
Fall conferences – November 19–21
Winter break – December 19–January 1
Spring break – March 25–29
In other board happenings, Memorial staff and students demonstrated school activities and curriculum intended to foster a positive school climate.
Student ambassadors, along with school counselor Stephanie Seet, explained the program and demonstrated some of the activities that support social-emotional learning conflict management skills.
