Preschool registration for the 2018-19 school year will be held Thursday, May 10 from 3 – 6:30 p.m. at the District Annex at 1500 NE Baker Street. (Note: families in Lafayette may register at Wascher Elementary on the same date and time.)
Sue Buel, Newby, and Wascher Elementary schools offer morning and afternoon sessions of a pre-kindergarten program. Future McMinnville School District (MSD) kindergarten students will learn school routines and participate in kindergarten readiness activities in literacy and math. (Note: students within any MSD school boundary may register for the program.)
The sessions run Mondays – Thursdays from 8:15 – 10:45 or 11:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
The program is open to children who will be four years old by September 1, 2018, and are not already enrolled in a preschool program. Parents provide transportation for their child to and from school.
To register, parents must provide the child’s birth certificate, immunization records and family’s proof of address. Proof of address can be a property tax record, utility bills, rent receipts or lease agreement. (Note: If you need to order immunization records or your child’s birth certificate, you can still register now with proof of address. The other documents may be submitted by the time school starts next fall.)
The program also requires parent involvement by volunteering a minimum of three hours a month for the program.
