McMinnville School District parents are invited to SIP Night on Monday, Nov. 26 beginning at 6 p.m. at McMinnville High School (MHS). The event, which includes four 30-minute sessions, includes two presentations by every school on a different topic.

Sample topics include:

  • “Show Up and Succeed” – MHS staff presents a session on the “Attendance Task Force” and its strategies to keep students engaged and in school.
  • “Storyline Strategy” – Memorial Elementary staff shows how making learning memorable helps prepare students with developing 21st century job skills including critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving.
  • “Back to Math Basics” – Sue Buel’s fifth grade teaching team shows how they are increasing student performance by integrating math content and process standards in an engaging way.
  • “Using Social Justice to Engage Learners” – Sixth grade English Language Arts teachers from Patton discuss how they are having critical conversations with students around equity, gender stereotypes and more to engage students in their learning.
