School Board Approves Separation Agreement
Last night, Monday, April 14, the McMinnville School Board voted to approve a separation agreement with Superintendent Debbie Brockett.
This agreement, categorized as a termination without cause, ends Dr. Brockett’s employment contract with the McMinnville School District, which was scheduled to conclude in 2027. The agreement, effective June 30, 2025, includes a separation package per the terms of the employment contract. Dr. Brockett chose to take leave beginning April 11 through June 30, 2025.
Director of Human Resources, Steffanie Frost, has been designated acting superintendent through June 30, 2025. Director Frost is working collaboratively with the MSD Leadership Team to ensure the budget, staffing, and other daily work move forward on schedule.
We will share more information about the budget timeline, the process for selecting an interim superintendent for the 2025-26 school year, and other updates as soon as they are available.
While this news is unexpected, please know that the MSD Leadership Team is focused on the important task of teaching and learning and the well-being and success of our staff and students. Working together, we plan to make the transition as seamless as possible. La noche de ayer lunes 14 de abril, la Mesa Directiva Escolar de McMinnville votó a favor de aprobar un acuerdo de despido con la Superintendente Debbie Brockett.
Este acuerdo, catalogado como despido sin causa justificada, pone final al contrato laboral de la Dra. Brockett con el Distrito Escolar de McMinnville, el cuál estaba programado para concluir en 2027. El acuerdo, vigente a partir del 30 de junio de 2025, incluye un paquete de despido según los términos del contrato. La Dra. Brockett optó por tomarse un permiso de ausencia del 11 de abril al 30 de junio de 2025.
La Directora de Recursos Humanos, Steffanie Frost, ha sido asignada como la superintendente interina hasta el 30 de junio de 2025. La Directora Frost está trabajando en colaboración con el Equipo de Liderazgo del MSD para garantizar que el presupuesto, la dotación del personal y otros trabajos diarios avancen según lo previsto.
