
Barb Keeton
The McMinnville School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Barb Keeton as a new principal of Memorial Elementary School.
Ms. Keeton has been an Oregon educator for more than twenty years, including her current role as principal of Oak Creek Elementary in the Lake Oswego School District. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, instructional leader, and administrator, bringing a strong foundation in teaching and learning, systems leadership, and student support.
Known for her student-centered leadership style, Ms. Keeton is deeply committed to building strong, collaborative school communities where students, staff, and families feel connected and supported. Her leadership is grounded in relationships, with a focus on creating inclusive learning environments and ensuring every student has access to meaningful opportunities for success.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Keeton has guided schools through complex challenges with a thoughtful and steady approach. She has led efforts to strengthen instructional practices, establish clear systems, and support both student achievement and staff growth and development.
“Barb brings a wealth of experience, integrity, and care to this role,” said Superintendent Dr. Kourtney Ferrua. “Her commitment to students, collaborative leadership style, and deep understanding of elementary education make her an excellent fit for our district and school community. We are excited to welcome her to McMinnville.”

In addition to her work at the school level, Ms. Keeton has contributed to educational leadership across Oregon and nationally through her involvement with the Oregon Elementary School Principals Association, where she has served as president and as a national representative.
