There will be changes to the school calendar due to the pandemic. We recognize the challenges the state-wide school closure has posed to student families and school staff. Our goal in revising the calendar is to extend learning opportunities for as many students as possible. We appreciate your flexibility in adapting to these calendar changes so that our students do not lose further instructional time.

The school closures began March 16, one week prior to the district’s scheduled Spring Break, March 23 – 27, 2020.

Five days were identified as possible school makeup days on the approved 2019-20 school district calendar.

McMinnville School District students will make up four days, due to the instructional days lost before spring break because of COVID-19 and the statewide school closure. Student days will be June 12, 15, 16, and 17; the last day for students will now be June 17.

A drive-through fifth grade promotion will now take place on the following dates/times:

Columbus, June 16, 1 p.m.

Grandhaven, June 16, 2 p.m.

Wascher, June 16, 3 p.m.

Newby, June 16, 2 p.m.

Memorial, June 16, 5 p.m.

Buel, June 17, 4 p.m.

A drive-through eighth grade celebration will take place on June 17 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at both Duniway and Patton middle schools.

This adjustment will not change the graduation activities and commencement dates for McMinnville High School.

Look for additional details on end-of-year activities to come from your student’s school.
