McMinnville High School launched a brand-new, fully functional, state-of-the-art recording studio last fall. Staffed by student engineers, the studio contains a drum set, a bass amp, a guitar amp, a digital piano and four high-end vocal microphones.
The studio is now open to staff members, as well as members of the public, for a charge of $10 per session for the 2019-20 school year.
“Studio time normally costs at least $75 per hour,” said MHS Vocal Music director Dana Libonati, who’s leading the project. “But we are offering it at this limited charge so our students can receive real-world work experience in this area.”
The studio is available between 3:30 – 5 p.m. on school days, and evening/weekends may be scheduled for an additional cost.
