The McMinnville High School commencement ceremony will look different for the Class of 2020. The ceremony will be conducted with students gathering in cars in various locations, tuning in to a pre-recorded program and concluding with six different parades that will end at each of the district’s elementary schools.

Look for a publication celebrating the graduates in the June 2 issues of the News-Register and the weekly Yamhill Valley Views (formerly known as The Post), which reach all households within our district boundaries. The publication will include maps of the parade routes (or click here for the maps included in the News-Register publication).

The public is encouraged to join the celebration along the parade routes that are expected to begin about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5.

Each parade will be led by a pilot car from the McMinnville Police Department and will end with a drive-by of the graduates’ elementary schools.

The commencement ceremony will be telecast on MCM 11 and KLYC 1260, streamed on www.mcm11.org/live and Facebook, beginning at 6:50 p.m. on June 5.

Find MCM on cable channels on
Xfinity/Comcast 11 and high-definition channel 331 and Frontier channel 29.

MCM will replay of the graduation program Friday night at 9 p.m.

Note: graduates will not congregate at the elementary schools and spectators are asked to maintain six feet of physical distancing for safety.
