Ryan McIrvin, McMinnville High School Athletic Director, Education pathway teacher, and Grizzly football coach, has been named Administrator of the Year by the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association. The award was announced last week in Eugene at the OCAA annual conference.
The award is designed to recognize administrators who are positive communicators and go above and beyond what their duties call for to ensure that the cheerleading program succeeds.
“ I appreciate that Ryan recognizes the importance of all sports and athletic activities,” said MHS Head Cheer Coach Tracy Brandt. “Not only the sports programs but also band, dance, cheer, drama, choir programs, etc.
“Ryan realizes that he needs to ‘invest’ in all of our students at McMinnville High School and contribute to activities and events that help them be successful,” said Brandt.
This year, the Grizzly Cheer squad won a silver medal at the OSAA state championships.
