Three McMinnville High School students in the Culinary Arts pathway swept the top places and won scholarships in last weekend’s Oregon Coast Culinary Institute (OCCI)’s annual Invitational.
The following three students placed in the 2021 OCCI competition:
Junior Cal Kramer (pictured): 1st place and $3000 scholarship
Sophomore Allan Fernandez: 2nd place & $2000 scholarship
Senior Joey Gilmore: 3rd place and $1000 scholarship
The competition is individual-based and directed students to prepare a pasta dish of their choice. The winning entrée was squid ink pasta and seared scallops with a brown butter sauce. Students had 60 minutes to complete their entries.
Congratulations, students!
