The McMinnville School District has run a “Breakfast in the Classroom” program for several years, far longer than many other districts in Oregon.
When Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon started working on expanding the program statewide, they looked for an exemplary program to highlight as a model for other districts.
That exemplary program was in the McMinnville School District, specifically, the breakfast program at Grandhaven Elementary.
A video crew spent several months working on the project to highlight the benefits of students starting the day with breakfast. Several students and staff at Grandhaven and the district were featured.
