Memorial Elementary fifth grade student Owen James and Duniway Middle School eighth grader Daphne Riddle won first place in their divisions in the Yamhill County Spelling Bee.The students advanced through the school bee, the district bee and now the county bee. They will represent Yamhill County in the elementary and middle school divisions at the state Spelling Bee, scheduled for Saturday, September 1 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Oregon State Fair.
