Duniway Middle School’s annual Career Fair has a new focus. The event is part of a year-long effort to help students explore careers of interest and to provide real-world connections to their lives.
The speakers were chosen from fields that coincide with McMinnville High School’s Career Pathway programs to give the middle school students a better idea of which program might appeal to them.
“Our goal is to give all of our eighth grade students a jumpstart on the expectations and opportunities of high school,” said Hilary Brittan Lack, principal of Duniway. “We want them to explore the Career Pathway options, learn about the College Now credits and why they matter, and tie those choices to their interests and aspirations. Our design is to have our students ready with a plan on day one of high school.”
