Duniway’s Leadership class collected books and toys for the annual Toys for Tots project headed locally by the McMinnville Fire Department.“Despite COVID restrictions and despite class being on Zoom, the Duniway Leadership class continues to embody its motto to ‘Go do good things,'” said Leadership teacher David Holmes.
“The Fire Department told me how moved they were to see kids helping kids.”
Students Penelope Hanson, Ben MacKay, Vayda Ringen, Maria Burke, and Joaquin Esquivel led the toy drive. They solicited donations in various formats including social media.
They collected toys, disinfected them and delivered them to the McMinnville Fire Department. They collected 110 toys and 53 books so that some local children will be able to have presents this year.
