Elementary students released an hour early; middle and high school start an hour later
On Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 7, 2022, McMinnville School District will begin its early release/late start schedule.
Elementary students will be released at 1:30 p.m., an hour earlier than the normal school day. The elementary school day will begin at the usual 8 a.m. every morning. Buses will drop off students at their bus stops an hour earlier on Wednesdays.
Note: Pre-K students will not participate in early release Wednesdays.
Middle and high school students will start an hour later on Wednesdays. Middle school students will start class at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesdays, and high school students will begin at 9:30 a.m. Middle school will end every day at its usual time of 3:15 p.m., and high school will conclude every day at 3:25 p.m. Buses will run the same routes on Wednesday mornings and pick up middle and high school students an hour later than usual.
This hour in the day will provide staff time to work together to review student achievement data, develop common assessments, and discuss how they can adjust their instructional practices to address the needs of each student in their classroom.
