Partida fills the spot left vacant after Dr. Scott Schieber resigned to move with his family to New Zealand. The term runs through June 30, 2019, and the four-year, at-large position will be on the ballot in May.
Partida, a father of three, was the first president of the district’s Hispanic Parent Advisory Committee. He had served on the district budget committee since last December.
A former real estate agent, Partida also has been active as a volunteer with his children’s schools. He has worked with Habitat for Humanity and Community Home Builders, a nonprofit cooperative homebuilding program, as well.
