Please join McMinnville High School artists for an opening reception for a community art show on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. The first juried art show for Mac High students is on display at the Gallery at Ten Oaks and will run through March 1.
Students were required to submit their work for judging (performed by local artists and leaders of the Yamhill Arts Alliance), frame their work, and price it for sale. This real-world experience culminates in a show at Ten Oaks Gallery.
This event also sparked a new mentorship program between Art Harvest Studio Tour artists and local youth.
Mac High’s Anna Gerber was selected to work with artist Wes Cropper of Newberg and Lillie Spencer was selected to work with local artist and gallery owner Marilyn Affolter.
Mentored students will embark on an eight-month program culminating in showing and selling their work at the Art Harvest Studio Tours this October.
