Two McMinnville High School seniors won Silver Key awards, and three other students garnered Honorable Mention recognition for a variety of artworks. The five are students of MHS art teacher Christine Garrison.

Amaya Williams won three Silver Keys for architectural design work and three Honorable Mentions for her paintings, and Bredin Blanchard won a Silver Key for her six-piece portfolio “Dementia” (#5 in portfolio pictured).

Other honorees include:

Senior Jillian Bird for her six-piece portfolio “Efflorescence.”

Senior Charlotte Stuart for “Distorted.”

Junior Anna Parker for her two paintings, “”Suppressed Acceptance” and “Tired Disdain.”

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. Students are judged on personal voice, technical skill and originality.
