Coursework will be accessible in Google Classroom

(Spanish) With the possibility of a snow day tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 23, MHS is in a unique situation in the district. Because the high school used their extra day when the school closed after police activity in the neighborhood last November, MHS students will have to make up a day in June if the district has a weather closure.

To avoid extending the school year, we’ve created a plan that draws on the lessons we learned during the pandemic, which will allow students to access coursework remotely.

Teachers will post classwork and assignments in their Google classrooms that students can access and complete at home. Teachers will be available via Google voice, email and Google classroom for questions and feedback.

The day will be asynchronous, which means students can complete their work at any time before midnight. Teachers will work with students who have issues with internet access and will provide opportunities to make up work, if necessary.

Students who log in and complete posted coursework will be counted “present.” If your student is unable to attend remotely, please make sure his/her absence is excused by emailing mhs-attendance@msd.k12.or.us or by calling 503.565.4208.
