McMinnville High School’s ASB Leadership has been named a “Gold Council for Outstanding Achievement” by the Oregon Association of Students Councils.
The award was given at the association’s spring conference in Portland last weekend.
The Gold Council award recognizes student councils that set high standards for themselves and work to achieve those standards over the school year.
Councils begin by setting goals in the fall and work hard all year to achieve them. In order to receive the award, councils must be involved in community service, activities that promote school spirit and pride, sportsmanship, unity, recognition and involvement in leadership training.
MHS’s Leadership is supervised by teacher Susanne Sayles, recently named “Young Educator of the Year” by McMinnville’s Distinguished Service Awards.
Leadership students plan a variety of activities for the school year, including Homecoming Week in the fall and Unity Week in the winter.
Congratulations, Grizzlies!
