Committee Intended to Strengthen School Community
(Spanish) Our district is forming a District Advisory Committee aligned to the Oregon legislative (SB732) requirements to help guide us in creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive schools for all students.
This new committee will meet approximately once a month to help:
- Review district data to help identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement so all students can thrive
- Provide insights and ideas to district leadership on how policies may affect students and families
- Share insights about the district-wide climate and culture factors that impact student success, especially for students who have historically faced barriers
- Operate as a thought partner, working to develop ideas to support and strengthen our school communities for all students
How to Get Involved
We are building this team to reflect the diverse strengths and voices of our district, and we would appreciate your involvement. Multiple perspectives and partnerships are essential as we work together to create the best possible learning environment for every student. Please complete this interest survey to apply to serve on this team. Participation will be limited to a maximum of 20 members, and we will strive toward representation from our school communities and focal populations.
This work builds on efforts already underway in our district. We believe that through a clear vision for student success with alignment in resources, actions, and focus, we will move student achievement, expand opportunities, and deepen engagement in learning. This year, we are focusing on the following areas: 1. continuous school improvement, 2. fiscal responsibility and development, 3. positive climate, culture, and opportunities, and 4. family and community partnerships.
Even if you are not interested in serving on the committee, there are many ways to stay connected. We are committed to ongoing communication with our families, community groups, and partners.
Your voice matters, and we look forward to partnering with you in this important work.
