McMinnville High School’s Career Technical Center was officially dedicated as part of the kickoff to the high school addition that began in earnest today.

Dr. Maryalice Russell, members of the School Board, Long-Range Planning Commission and Citizens for a Good Education, as well as architects, engineers, project managers, and construction superintendents, along with other members of the community, were on hand to unveil a commemorative plaque outside the new vocational center.

The group toured the new facility and observed classroom work in action before moving into the section of the high school that is now under demolition.

Construction representatives gave an overview of the work to come and then attendees were invited to swing a golden hammer into the drywall to launch the demolition.

The construction will continue through August 2019.
