
The Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) sent a reporter to feature the McMinnville School District’s freshman-sophomore math and science summer program.
The program, created and led by McMinnville High School teachers, gives students a chance to focus on the curriculum areas they struggled with during the school year.
The four-week session offers students a chance to master learning targets they missed during the classes and possibly raise their grade. Most importantly, by mastering the material, students are better poised to succeed academically.

Founded in 1946, OSBA is governed by a member-elected board and serves K-12 public school boards, education service district boards, community college boards and the State Board of Education. Through legislative advocacy at state and federal levels, board leadership training, employee management assistance and policy, legal and financial services, OSBA helps locally elected volunteers fulfill their complex public education roles.
