The International Thespian Society (ITS), a division of the
Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), is pleased to announce the
results of Patton Middle School’s participation in the International
Thespian Society’s Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat program. On Oct. 30,

Patton Thespian Junior Troupe 89053 went trick-or-treating for canned
goods in the school’s community. Last year’s donations were just over
700 pounds; this year the total comes to  1,212 pounds of
donated food. This is enough for YCAP Food Bank to feed 1,000 meals
that will be dispersed throughout Yamhill County to those in need.

YCAP’s Food Bank Resource Development Coordinator, Tad Beckwith,
stated, ” Thanks to Patton and those fantastic Thespians for going out
and recruiting more donors!  You all provided a great start on our drive
for 60 days to receive over 50,000 pounds of food!” Thank you to all of
the members of the Patton community that donated to their
Trick-or-Treaters and through our in-school canned food drive.

Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat is a new national community
service program for ITS-member schools to collect canned and dry goods
for local charities and food banks. Students from Patton Middle School
participated in the Oregon program.  Thousands of pounds of food were
collected across the state, giving theatre students the ability to help
their local community.
