Purple was the color of the evening at last night’s School Board meeting.  First, the board proclaimed October to be “Hands & Words are Not for Hurting Month” as part of a special recognition for Superintendent Maryalice Russell.

The Hands & Words team – Gretchen Olson, Kathy Robinson, Melody Gibson, Pamela Berkery and the Purple Hands Bear – declared Dr. Russell to be the first Purple Hands Pledge Ambassador, “in appreciation of her outstanding dedication and contributions to positive change for countless children and families in the community.”

Next up, the Duniway Dragons presented information about the robotics program at the school and handed out purple t-shirts to board members that were designed and created with school technology.

The students wrapped up their presentation with a demonstration led by Duniway teacher Katie Elliott.  The students showed board members how they use Google in the Classroom to learn.
