
The annual McMinnville High School Sports Hall of Fame induction event will be held Saturday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at the Evergreen Aviation Museum.
The event will honor the following athletes:
- Alyssa Hasslen holds the all-time records in shot put and discus and the number two spot for javelin. She was a highly decorated multi-conference champion at the University of Arizona, and nearly competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
- Joe Paterson was an all-league quarterback and an all-state baseball player for the Grizzlies from 2001-2004 before going on to help the Oregon State Beavers win back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. Finally, Joe spent several years pitching in the Major Leagues before retiring.
- Daniel Turpen was a multiple all-league selection basketball player and a multiple all-state team pitcher for the Grizzlies from 2001-2004. After being chosen as the Oregon Gatorade Pitcher of the Year as a senior, Daniel helped the Oregon State Beavers make the College World Series for three straight years. He won two consecutive national championships in 2006 and 2007, before being drafted into the MLB in the 8th round by the San Francisco Giants.
