Opportunities Available for Grades K-8
McMinnville School District is thrilled to announce it’s been awarded a Summer Learning Grant from the Oregon Department of Education.
This grant allows the district to offer a series of programming designed to enhance reading and math skills, along with enrichment opportunities. Programs for students in grades 1-8 will run Monday-Friday for three weeks, July 27-August 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Transportation for qualified students and free meals will be provided.
In addition, MSD will collaborate with the Evergreen Aviation Museum, Outdoor Education Adventures, and Carlton Observatory for hands-on learning opportunities.
“We’re excited to offer these robust learning opportunities for our students,” said Dr. Lauren Berg, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. “This grant allows us to support students as they build strong literacy and math skills, while having fun in a summer program environment.”
“Every student deserves the opportunity to build strong reading skills,” explained Oregon Governor Tina Kotek. “These summer programs give students the time, support, and real-world experiences they need to grow their confidence and stay on track for success.”
Along with the 1-8 summer school programming, a two-week long Kinder Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday from August 10-20. Transportation is not available for Kinder Camp.
