The Grandhaven Elementary School choir presented their final concert
of the school year on Tuesday, April 21. The choir was joined by the Rose City Mixed Quartet, a four-member group that has been performing together for 20 years.

The students sang a variety of pieces that demonstrated their
educational growth throughout the year, beginning with a simple unison
song and ending with a choreographed, two-part rendition of Irving
Berlin’s “I Love a Piano.”

The Rose City Mixed Quartet performed four selections and then joined
the students for an unaccompanied setting of “Shenandoah.”

At the end of the concert, the students received medals acknowledging
their contributions to the school choir, which included attending
weekly rehearsals, performing at school assemblies, and presenting three
concerts during the year. The choir is directed by Kendra Friar, one of
the music teachers at Grandhaven.
