No rapid tests at Fairgrounds; new site launches Saturday, Jan. 15

(Spanish) Despite the extremely high demand for rapid COVID tests, Yamhill County Public Health (YCPH) has found it necessary to discontinue rapid testing at the Tuesday/Thursday Fairgrounds events beginning today, Thursday Jan 13 due to ongoing supply challenges and a constrained capacity to administer the tests.

While rapid tests will not be offered, the Fairgrounds events will continue to offer PCR tests with 2-3 day turnaround times, as well as all vaccine options.

Additionally, due to traffic control/safety concerns, cars may be turned away from the Fairgrounds entrance and asked to return later in order to prevent the line for testing/vaccines from blocking traffic on Lafayette Avenue.

  • New test site option

Beginning Saturday, Jan. 15, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) will staff a vaccination and PCR testing site at Spirit Mountain Casino from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15, from noon to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

  • If symptomatic

YCPH recommends that if you are unable to access testing but are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms, you should assume you are positive and take appropriate actions.

The YCPH website includes resources and information for people who are sick or have tested positive, and OHA has launched a Case Support Hotline (866.917.8881) and a webpage for those who have tested positive.
