Celebration for Writers and Book Release on Thursday, May 9

The Yamhill County Paper Gardens winners for 2024 will be celebrated at book release celebration scheduled for Thursday, May 9 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg. Family, friends, teachers and supporters are welcome to attend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Judges Annie Lighthart and Sindya Bhanoo will invite various authors to the stage to read their work.

Paper Gardens received about 400 prose and poetry entries this year from 21 schools, and 77 writing pieces were selected and published. Each author will receive a copy of the book with additional copies for sale at the event for $20.
