Changes in the Pacific Conference

(Spanish) The current situation regarding covid cases in the state of Oregon has caused school districts to make adjustments to spectator policies at home/away athletic contests. McMinnville School District prioritizes the opportunity to safely participate (competing, performing or spectating) in athletic contests.  In order for this to be the case we must have complete cooperation from ALL (students and adults).

To ensure that students and staff remain healthy and schools remain open, the Pacific Conference has agreed to the following changes to take effect for league contests beginning Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

  • For home-based sporting events, home and away athletes will be allotted 4 spectator tickets (family member/non HS students); those 4 people will sit together at the event. No additional spectators will be allowed entry at this time.  This will apply to all levels.
  • All participants, coaches, and spectators must comply with mask use while inside our facilities (except players or officials during active competition and practice). This means wearing the mask over your mouth & nose at all times.  No exceptions!
  • Spectators are asked to space throughout the bleachers, as per physical distancing guidelines.
  • There will be no admission charge for approved spectators.
  • For now, there will be no band attendance.
  • No student seating section at away contests.
  • Concessions will no longer be sold at school events. Food and drinks may not be consumed during events (except water for athletes).
  • For multiple team tournaments we are not allowing spectators.
  • These adjustments are for a temporary period of time, and we will re-evaluate all protocols regularly.

In addition, all McMinnville High School home contests will have the following changes:

Cheer and dance families will be allotted 4 spectator tickets (family member/non HS students); those 4 people will sit together at the event.

  • Performance groups (Cheer and dance) will be allowed to perform as planned.
  • Student ONLY tickets will be distributed through the Athletic Office for each home game.  Number of tickets available TBD.
  • The west side of the gym will be reserved for student seating ONLY.  The east side of the gym (behind team bench) along with the walking track will be reserved for adults/alloted spectator seating ONLY
  • Student seating will be allowed with limits on the number of students per row and the rows available. Masks must be worn properly at all times and must cover the mouth and nose. No exceptions!

If at any time these guidelines are not followed, violators will forfeit their opportunity to attend contests throughout the duration of these changes being in effect.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Go Grizzlies!
