McMinnville School District (MSD) offers a free pre-kindergarten (pre-K) program for four-year-olds who live within MSD school boundaries. MSD’s pre-K is a nurturing, hands-on program designed to develop a child’s love for learning and school. Future MSD kindergarten students learn school routines and participate in kindergarten readiness activities in literacy and math.
Here are more details:
Children can attend morning or afternoon sessions at five of our schools. Find out more here.
Each site run Mondays – Thursdays with a morning session (includes breakfast) from 8:15 – 10:45 a.m., and afternoon session (includes lunch) from 11:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Families must provide transportation to and from school.
The program follows the MSD school calendar with the exception of starting one day later in August and ending one day earlier in June.
Pre-K registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis with priority placement for 60 percent of the spots for families who experience limited income. Click for income guidelines and other information (Spanish).

Families will be notified by May 26, 2024, if they received a spot or are put on the waiting list. Students placed on the waiting list will be offered available spots across the district.
Because the district believes that it is critical to have families involved in their child’s pre-K experience, we suggest that families volunteer at least 2.5 hours a month.
