McMinnville Education Foundation funds $20,000 to augment learning experiences for students.

Superintendent Brockett hosted seven virtual Town Hall meetings for parents, as well as a ThoughtExchange, which asked families to share topics or concerns they wanted to know more about. Here is a summary.

On November 8, the McMinnville School Board declared the week of Nov. 15 – 19 to be American Education Week. The annual recognition celebrates public education and honors the many individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education.

In recognition of the hard work of McMinnville School District students and staff, Superintendent Brockett and the School Board have extended the upcoming Thanksgiving Break by one day to allow a “Care & Connection” day. Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 24.

Yamhill County Public Health and Providence Medical Center are offering COVID vaccine clinics on Thursday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 4 at Duniway Middle School, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The events are scheduled to fit the recommendation for the pediatric shot series for children ages 5 -11.

Parents can sign up for home version of filtering program

MSD is offering free hotspot devices and wireless service to families who need additional access to the internet for school-related work. Intended to close the homework gap, the program will provide free devices and service to families of eligible students in grades K-12 who do not have home internet access.

Voluntary, Weekly Screening For Asymptomatic Students

Runtoberfest is back after taking a hiatus due to the pandemic in 2020. The annual fun run and walk raises funds for MSD students and is sponsored by the McMinnville Education Foundation (MEF).

The McMinnville School District is expanding the use of the MySchoolBucks online system to include secure payments for school fees, athletics, technology insurance and more.
